Nobody tells you on the sales page that you are going to get a resale rights offer as an upsell.

The first type of product is your best bet for making the most sales if you are trying to cash in on a hot topic. Yes, others will eventually buy the same product and saturate the market. But if you promptly put up your sales page you will have made back your investment many times over by then.
